We invite you to join us, not just as a sponsor but as an active partner, to restore our ocean commons. Please join our mailing list to follow the latest news on our expeditions and collaborations. Project Kaisei offers the following four opportunities for supporting our ongoing work:
Donors:
Unconstrained charitable contributions to our program.
Sponsorships:
Corporations providing funding to the overall Project Kaisei effort in return for specific recognition in our communications and participation in our advisory group. See the Benefits link for sponsorship levels and benefits.
Foundation and Government Grants:
Project Kaisei is actively preparing grant applications to foundations and to government agencies, such as National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration ("NOAA"), with whom a specific program area is a strong match (e.g., in marine debris research, collection and education).
Multi-client Programs:
Separately from its ongoing annual budget raised through sponsors, Project Kaisei may pursue specific programs financed by a consortium of sponsors on a shared ocean recovery interest, such as assessing plastic conversion technologies. Sponsors of these non-academic projects will have specific rights to the findings separately from results designed to inform and change industry practices that will be broadly disseminated.
Project Kaisei was started in late 2008, based in San Francisco and Hong Kong, and operates under the umbrella of Ocean Voyages Institute, which is a registered 501c3 in California since 1979. Its efforts are funded by donations of individuals, corporations and foundations, as well as in-kind support. In order to maintain our efforts, we your appreciate continued support to help our global efforts on reducing the amount of plastic in our ocean.
