Mission Update

The Kaisei is the flagship of the emerging fleet of vessels which will eventually clean the plastic and other man-made debris from the world's oceans.

The Kaisei and its companion vessel, the New Horizon, have just completed their first mission to the North Pacific Gyre, aka the Plastic Vortex.

The New Horizons docked in Newport, Oregon on August 21, 2009 and the Kaisei landed at San Francisco on Monday, August 31, 2009.
